Child safety standards

The Pebble Club is a friendship app for adults. This page sets out our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE): how we keep minors out, how we keep abusive material out, and what we do when something is reported.

Adults only

The club is for adults aged 18 and over. Creating an account requires a date of birth, and anyone under 18 cannot join. Our store listings carry adult age ratings, and we support the app stores' mechanisms that prevent users identified as minors from finding or downloading the app.

Prevention comes first

Every message and every photo is screened by our moderation systems before it is delivered to the other person. Content that sexualises or endangers children is blocked, logged and acted on. There are no public spaces in the app: all conversations are one-to-one, which limits the reach of any abusive behaviour and makes it easier to act decisively.

Reporting inside the app

Anyone can report a member or block them from any conversation, in two taps, without the other person being told. A person, not just a system, reviews every report within 24 hours. Child safety concerns can also be raised directly by email at hello@thepebbleclub.com.

What happens when we find CSAE

• The account involved is suspended immediately while we investigate.
• We preserve the evidence and report child sexual abuse material and related activity to the relevant authorities, including the National Crime Agency (CEOP) in the UK and, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
• We cooperate with law enforcement requests made through proper legal channels.
• If we learn a member is under 18, the account is closed and its data deleted in line with our privacy policy.

Compliance
